Quick Take: link As photographer Kristian Haagen pointed out when presenting this award, a complication is a complication, and it’s not clear we need separate ladies’ and men’s complication categories. That said, it’s an opportunity to recognize Dior watchmaking, something that might not happen otherwise. I’m just glad that a couple of the brands that seemed to be playing a little fast and loose with the (admittedly ambiguous) definition of ladies’ complication didn’t win this particular prize.

The Internet, and auction aggregators specifically, have made watches and information accessible to anyone, and this is mostly a good thing. To be clear, there are also still deals to be, but it just gets harder every day, and they don’t usually say “Patek” or “Rolex” on the dial. But, there’s still expertise and an art to inspecting and evaluating these watches, and it often needs to be done in person. It’s important to helvetia watch know what you don’t know.
